Ketamine Treatment

"There is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn't."
- John Green, author

Ketamine is a rapid-acting antidepressant that is FDA approved and prescribed off-label to treat depression, suicidal ideation, PTSD, anxiety, alcohol withdrawal, chronic pain, and other mental health conditions. Ketamine works by rapidly shifting negative thought patterns and growing new neurons in the brain.

At Onea, we believe the dissociative and dream-like state produced by ketamine is not a side effect, but actually highly beneficial within the appropriate circumstances. This non-ordinary state of consciousness provides a rapid shift out of rigid thought patterns and allows for new
perspectives, realizations, and insights. We believe ketamine allows patients to access their own inner healing resources when used in the appropriate dose, set, and setting. When properly administered by a doctor in a therapeutic environment, a carefully selected dose of ketamine will provide feelings of calm and relaxation.

Ketamine combines well with psychotherapy and lifestyle adjustments to accelerate and deepen the process of lasting change. Ketamine can rapidly relieve depressive symptoms in most patients, and when combined with therapy and lifestyle modifications, will increase the chances of healing and returning to balance.

Ketamine may come with side effects that are short term — lasting 1-3 hours on average — including temporary immobility, decreased coordination, increased blood pressure, reduced awareness of environment, and in some cases, nausea (which can be prevented with medication).

Healing begins within.
